Wides Knox Water

"Wides" are, of course, Camel Wides, i.e., addictive cigarettes being marketing to the young, hoping to addict young people like they did my Dad somewhere around 75 years ago. Screw you, agents of death!

Knox is just another political candidate. I don't know if he's good or bad.

I also don't know how that big bottle of water ended up where it is in this photo -- it's very strange, as if someone didn't get to finish what they wanted to do. The other, empty bottle is a more common object here in The Mission, where people just throw away stuff when they're done with it.

All manner of junk ends up on our street.

Relationships are cast aside just as casually here. All kinds of left-behinds live on my street, including the always-silent woman whose son was fathered by a man I met only once -- a violently angry guy who almost killed me when I told him he was acting like an "asshole," perhaps not my wisest move in the past three years here.

But he chose to leave rather than kill me, which I suppose must mean something or another.
